Flatlander Coffee Co.

In non-pregnancy news, if you haven't heard, Levi and I (well, mostly Levi) have gone in together with two friends to start a coffee roasting business. It started out as a dream to start a coffee shop (something Levi has wanted to do for several years now), but after brainstorming with our friends and considering our options we decided it would be less risky and require fewer startup costs to start by roasting and selling our own coffee (and hope that it might one day turn into a coffee shop).

For several brainstorming meetings, our team discussed how we want the business to work, and the plan we've settled on is to sell to individuals (both online and through word-of-mouth) and hopefully businesses around Norman/OKC that sell coffee (either in consumable drinks or as a bagged commodity). Our coffee will be roasted to order, so it will be fresher than almost anything else you can find in town, plus it will be roasted locally, which is especially a selling factor in a place like Norman where buying "local" products is very hip.

The most exciting part is that we've decided on a name: Flatlander Coffee Co. (a play on the plains where we live) AND we officially became an LLC this week! We still have some business documents to draft and accounting procedures to set up before we officially start selling, but the plan is to be up-and-running by April 15 (which is pretty ambitious!). A logo and social media page are also in the works, so be looking for us around mid-April. I'm sure I'll post an official open-for-business announcement here, as well, so be sure to check us out!
