Yard Work

Ever since we moved into our house two years ago, Levi has wanted to replace the plain, boring flower bed border with stones. I agreed that would be a good idea and, finally, two weekends ago we made it happen. Unfortunately, neither of us were thrilled with the result. We're giving ourselves until this weekend to decide if we want to revert back to the original border or not. Maybe we're just not used to seeing the bed lined with stones? I have to say it's been growing on me, but I'd better decide soon so we can get more stones for the smaller bed that match before they're gone!

Bon Voyage, Wilkins Siblings

Last night, we had to say goodbye to Jake and Becca (Levi's brother and his wife) since they're headed overseas next week for six months or longer. While we're very excited that they get to have such an awesome adventure, we're very sad they're moving and will miss them a lot. The four of us have gotten really close over the last few years, and we consider J & B some of our best friends.

In honor of their upcoming travels, I'd like to share pictures of some of the adventures we've shared with them over the years (these don't even begin to cover all the places we've traveled together and all the fun we've had).

Thankfully, we'll be able to talk to Jake and Becca via Skype and Facebook, plus read the blog they'll keep while they're away. They plan to be in Vienna around Christmastime, and Levi and I hope to go see them then. Vienna is a special city to all of us, since it's where Levi studied abroad and where we got engaged (during a trip with Jake and Becca), so it will be great to return. With hopes of traveling to see the "other" Wilkins soon, we'll say "see you later" instead of "goodbye".

J+B: May your adventures be all that you hope for and more! We love you guys!

Annual Choctaw Oktoberfest

Last year, we started the tradition of going to the first Oktoberfest of the season in Choctaw with our friends Ann and Trent. Conveniently, there's always a half-price Groupon for it, and it's a lot of fun. We went last night, which was the first night of this year's event (it goes through next weekend). They've added more entertainment and food options, so it was even better than we remembered. We're already looking forward to next year!
